With over 35 years in Stock broking as a UK Equity salesman, Bob started his City career in 1977 at small agency broking firm Spencer Thornton & Co. In 1985 he moved to join the Small & Mid Cap house Simon & Coates. Following Chase Manhattan's acquisition of both the broking houses of "Simon & Coates" and "Laurie Milbank" and subsequent exit from the City of London shortly after, in 1988 Bob joined Henderson Crosthwaite Institutional Brokers Ltd.
In the Mid 90's emerging South African banking business "Investec" acquired HCIB and Bob was instrumental in developing their very successful UK Institutional Equity presence until his departure to Teather & Greenwood in 2004. Teather's quickly became a target themselves to the Icelandic house of Landsbanki and following the well documented Icelandic banking crisis and closure of Landsbanki Securities, Bob joined Charles Stanley in February 2010.
